Byrd Bonner is the Executive Director of The United Methodist Church Foundation, which is a part of the General Council on Finance & Administration (GCFA) of The United Methodist Church. He is active in the National Association of United Methodist Foundations, the National Committee on Planned Giving and the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility.
Prior to moving to the Foundation, Byrd was in private legal practice for 17 years, in San Antonio, TX, most recently with Butler & Binion L.L.P. His areas of practice included commercial, business and banking litigation, insurance coverage and defense litigation, litigation management, creditor representation, probate litigation, consumer rights, bankruptcy, usury, international banking litigation, labor litigation; State and Federal Courts. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and has been active in the structure of the American Bar Association. Brigette Brandon, the newest member of the United Methodist Church Foundation staff, brings with her several years of non-profit and development experience. In addition to her experience, she holds a B.A. degree in Public Relations from the University of Memphis and is currently working on a Master's degree. Brigette's strengths in the areas of fund development and donor relations make her a valuable asset to the Foundation.Prior to joining the UMC Foundation Brigette worked in development and event planning for Nashville, TN area agencies such as The Martha O'Bryan Center, Soles4Souls and Youth Life Learning Center. She is also a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle TN and is very active in her church. Brigette's role as Development Assistant makes her the first point of contact for many of our agency partners and donors.
